Leadership and Legacy Advisors

The Legacy Forum™ Advisors are trained professionals.  They are wise, seasoned by life, education, experience, relationships and then trained by us.  The most difficult aspect of our Advisor process is finding the right people.  We are always looking and assessing people we meet.  We have a thorough process for identifying, selecting and vetting potential Legacy Advisors and Experts.  Beyond that it often comes down to having that internal gut sense as well.

The Legacy Forum™ Advisors most important first and foundational task in working with a client of family, is to build a trusted relationship.  If that does not happen, our work becomes academic instead of life-changing.  There are many ways in which we take the first few months working with a new client or family to deepen their relationship.

  • *Retreats:  We have often used short retreats, from one to five days.  Being away from noise and life distraction is essential.

  • *Confidentiality:  Advisors encourage open communication as much as possible.  This is NOT a mental health process but one focused on the building blocks of a happy life and Legacy.  We do work with mental health professionals and facilities but our primary task is building, not healing.

  • *In Viva:  Legacy Advisors build a trusting relationship with clients by our clients inviting Advisors into their world.  That means we get to meet with you both formally and informally, in your home and in the course of everyday life.  There are a miriad of other connection points such as playing sports (golf, pickle ball, tennis), travelling, seeing the things that matter to you, your business, where you give and volunteer, your faith experience (only if you have one).  Meeting and getting to know the people who are a part of your life makes the work of Legacy building so much richer and deeper.

*The Legacy Forum™ will cover these and other issues in our interview process if you choose to explore becoming a client.

We have had the wonderful privilege of working with individual clients and families for over 35 years.  Standing together to deal with a crisis or working on important Legacy issues.   We have a world-class team of Legacy Advisors,  with a wide area of expertise:  business leaders, lawyers, talent management, consultants, political, medicine, financial management, UHNW individuals and couples, marriage and family experts, parenting experts, faith leaders, mentors, substance abuse experts, educational consultants, private investigators, psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, coaches, performance experts, clinical, social workers coaches, and educational professionals.  mediation,

In addition, we have an extensive network both in the US, Canada and in many foreign countries.

Krisandra Demos - CEO
Partner and Senior Advisor

I am the CEO of The Legacy Forum LLC. I took over in 2024 as Mark Demos, my husband, and I determined to take our combined experience of 70 years in advising, coaching and mental health and build a New Model and Era for Family Offices. We had worked together since 2010 when I joined Mark working with UHNW individuals and families, which he had been involved in since 1991 in Seattle. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 30 years in Texas. Throughout my life, friends, schoolmates and others have sought me out to talk about important issues. That probably moved me in the direction of becoming a therapist. I was amazed how before I became a therapist people I hardly knew would open up to me about their most private personal issues. They wanted to be heard and they wanted direction. From early in my life I was fascinated by what motivated people. I wanted to understand the: What, How, When and Why people do what they do and also Who they do it with. Motive or the “Why” behind behavior is what I am always attempting to understand and identify. I was obsessed with the FBI and profiling. I often thought of becoming an agent but life took me in other directions. That fascination has served me very well. I have worked in many very challenging and immensely rewarding situations with Mark Demos and have helped develop the Positive Forensic Profiling system. It allows us to look at what is best in people and also help them to see and leverage their strengths to face life. I have spent 30 years reading and learning about how to ask the right questions to help people gain insight and also for me to understand, so I can counsel and advise. I have been working with The Legacy Forum for 15 years. Working with Mark Demos with amazing people who want to make life all they have to capacity to do. I have been able to travel around the US to work with clients where they are. I have had the privilege of meeting clients with household names, spend time at homes and estates that are magnificent, but most of all see people who are serious about Legacy work hard on decisions and issues. I am a world traveler, I love the beach and warm places, I love speed and fast cars, I enjoy a wide variety of music, I am a movie quote savant!

Adam D. Demos, Advisor
The Legacy Nexus

I'm a Human Capital Advisor and Principal at The Legacy Forum, where we help ultra-high-net-worth families address the human side of wealth transfer. My role focuses on the Rising Generation: helping young adults navigate inherited wealth pressures, vocational paralysis, and the search purpose that can serve family name. My foundation in this work began in Seattle with Teen Discovery, where I worked alongside Mark Demos (Legacy Forum's founder) facilitating intervention and mentorship for at-risk youth. That work taught me how to assess behavioral patterns, build accountability structures, and guide young people through identity formation - skills that translate directly to working with heirs facing "failure to launch" dynamics. From 2011-2024, I lived in Cambodia, where I managed human capital development in high-stakes contexts: running an NGO restaurant training program that built young Cambodians into capable hospitality professionals, and later directing operations for high-volume venues. This taught me how to assess potential, create development frameworks, and deliver results under pressure in a multicultural/multilingual setting. At The Legacy Forum, I help families apply the same rigor to their human capital that they apply to their financial capital. This includes behavioral assessment tools like Positive Forensic Profiling™, experiential development programs through our Legacy Nexus initiative, and individualized stewardship frameworks for next-generation family members. We transform heirs into architects!

Penny Van Der Westhuizen, PhD (nd) Advisor

I have been a counselor for almost 40 years and have seen lives change. The people I meet with often come in broken, devastated, hurt, depressed, anxious and confused about where they are in life. Our work together, is to help bring about real, lasting change, based on truth and focused in hope. My heartfelt motivation, is that as we connect, you will experience the reality that change is possible and hope can be found in almost every situation. I look forward to meeting you and becoming a wonderful, productive part of your journey in healing, changing and growing in a new life direction. I am certified in the VIA Character Strengths Profile and various other Positive Forensic Profile Tests and processes. I am an expert in Profile Evidence Contamination. I have taught alcohol classes for the State of Texas for over 10 years and been involved in running juvenile offender programs/classes for Richardson Municipal Courts. My approach as an Advisor includes those who seek a Faith or Biblically based approach. I am a passionate advocate for animal welfare and rescuing dogs from abusive situations. I currently enjoy two such beloved rescues, as part of my family. based approach. I am a passionate advocate for animal welfare and rescuing dogs from abusive situations. I currently enjoy two such beloved rescues, as part of my family. You cannot have progress without change, and you cannot change without experiencing some type of discomfort sooner or later. Remember: "Discomfort" is not necessarily a bad thing. Much in the same way our muscles are sore after an intense workout, when we make the deliberate decision to begin working outside of our “comfort zone” in order to break free from unproductive or unhealthy routines and behaviors, the "discomfort" we feel lets us know we are growing, moving, improving, building, changing and progressing. People primarily seek therapy because something in their life is not working, and they want to find a solution, an answer, to make things right again. In other words, people come to counseling to change what is no longer effective. My role in this process of change is not to tell you what modifications to make, or how to live your life. Rather, my part in this journey is to work with you, collaboratively, to accomplish three things: 1) help you identify what changes you want in your life, 2) guide you in recognizing (and perhaps rediscovering) the strengths you possess to make these changes happen, and finally, 3) support you in finding a plan to put these changes into action. "With each step, I become stronger." I firmly believe that with enough time, support, guidance, challenging of erroneous beliefs and perseverance, each person is capable of drawing upon their unique God-given design, in using individual strengths to experience growth, change and progress in life. If you are ready to begin this process of changing that which is no longer working in your life, please call or email me for an individual, couples or family Advisory consultation today.
